Rose Miho
Artist and poet
Rose Miho
Rose is a French-Autralian multidisciplinary artist.
She studied art in France, in Paris and Lyon.
In 2023, Rose Miho spent a year in France. She explored new mediums extracting an ink from irises flowers from her garden. In those monochromatic paintings, she explores the anatomy of the body, the poetry of flowers, and collaborates with the rain. Her intention there was to act as a surgeon of her art. Using the ink to soothe and calm her mind in a world constantly changing and accelerating. With this technique she reclaims slowness. To explore the intricacies of simplicity. Currently exhibiting in France at the Schistes Bleu gallery.
The temperamental heart is a book of poetry written, co-edited and illustrated by Rose Miho. Capturing her own gentle queer awakening the author, through this work, weaves a poetic lace of intricately descriptive words and sensual imagery. It was first published in 2022.
Studio F was an art studio and a space for the community to gather at monthly poetry nights. It was a space for a permanent exhibition of Rose Miho's artwork. It officially closed in 2022 due to the temporary relocation of the artist to her country of birth, France.
On April 13th 2020 she opened Impressions an online exhibition during covid-19 self-isolation. She exhibited her erotic series and presented an art installation. She draped the floors and walls of her art studio with layers of cathartic ink paintings. A poem emerged out of this installation

Always loyal
Art will give you strength
From July 6th to July 12th 2020, she exhibited her erotic watercolours at the Byron Bay Gallery. The opening included a shadow dance performance with poetry and installation art.
In December 2019 she released a video of her poem Immigrant made in collaboration with videographer Adele Brodskaja. It's a spoken word video about her journey as an immigrant from France to Australia, the heartache, the love, the loneliness and the connections that come with that choice.
From 2019 until 2022 Rose created a series of erotic watercolours. The pieces were permanently exhibited at her art studio for a couple of years. In it, she paints powerful sensuality in bright colours highlighted by intricate details in black or white ink. The paintings show a diversity of gender and sexual orientations. Celebrating all shapes, forms and colours. Rendering a sexuality that is poetic, organic and raw, connected, beyond the typical representation of it in mainstream media and pornography.
From 2013 to 2022 the artist ran a small business Henna Rose in and around Byron Bay. She designed hundreds of henna designs. She organised and managed her henna stall at local markets and festivals.
